Patriotic Cones.

I have been so inspired by all the cute red, white and blue desserts out there!  So festive and fun! I decided I wanted to try something patriotic and sweet, but I don't have a lot of time right now, so I just did some colorful ice cream cones.  Ice cream is the All-American treat, right?

These were so easy, and really tasty.  You will need:

:: chocolate chips
:: vanilla ice cream
:: blueberries
:: ice cream cones (you can get gluten free from Meijer's)
:: red sprinkles

Just melt some chocolate chips in a bowl and stir until smooth.  Dip the cones in the chocolate and then into the sprinkles.   Place on a wax paper covered plate in the freezer to harden up.  When you're ready to serve them, scoop vanilla ice cream inside and then top with a few blueberries.

Enjoy!

We're taking it easy this weekend, just grilling, maybe going to a parade, and visiting with our families.  What do you have planned?  Do you have any patriotic desserts on the menu?

  1. No desserts here! Normally I'm all over it but this year I am just relaxing in the backyard with the fiance, dog and a few friends. :) I might whip something up really quick on Monday but I haven't even thought about it yet!! We're keeping it laid back this year. :)

    Hope you have a wonderful 4th!

  2. That looks so yummy!

    I haven't decided on our 4th dessert yet...probably pretty low key, we've had a couple of hectic weeks so a nice laid back bbq is order.

    Hope you have a great 4th!

  12. I know blueberries are better but I was thinking if I made this I would use blue sprinkles on top so I wouldn't have to go to the store. I'm planning jello layered in a trifle bowl - blue jello with blueberries, red jello with strawberries and of course a layer of white whipped cream on top.
