I bought a new sling based on the recommendations of my friends with more than one babe, and I love it. It's so easy to use, I just pop him inside and make sure his head and neck are nice and upright and we're good to go! It's the fleece sling by Kangaroo Korner, and unfortunately they are discontinued. You can still find them on ebay, which is where I got mine...they are super popular, and they sell fast! I wound up getting a Medium, in Plum, and mine is right hand dominant. I also have a Moby Wrap, which I really like as well. It's nice to be able to have Baby Bee close to me and still have free hands. Next on my sling wishlist is an Ergo, pretty much the Cadillac of baby carriers...once he gets bigger I think we will make the investment. That way Darryl can wear Baby Bee as well.
If you are new to baby wearing, this page has some good safety tips. It's especially important to position a newborn correctly in a sling. The main thing is to have the baby upright, with his head by your heart.
And yes, I had just been spit up on before taking this photo. I thought about changing my shirt, but this way you get a peek into my life right now...and that's what it's like. Reality check...I am all about yoga pants and hair clips, nursing and more nursing, glasses and lack of showers, massive amounts of food and water, and watching Arrested Development on Netflix during late night feedings. How did I not know about that show before now?
So, question to other mamas out there...do you wear your baby? What's your favorite carrier?
Also, what else should be in my Netflix queue?

I have a pretty new sling from a Canadian company all ready to go! I can't wait to use it :)
ReplyDeleteI wore my daughter a lot when she was tiny. Now that I'm pregnant with my second I think we are going to invest in an ergo as well.
ReplyDeleteI have a Moby and we alternate about whether she likes it or not. Some days she falls asleep, others she just cries after 5 minutes.
ReplyDeleteDowntown Abbey..GREAT show you will love!
ReplyDeletei didn't have one when my kids were little, they weren't really in back then. i did have a body facing carrier tho and loved it.
ReplyDeletei totally agree with the comment above, if you haven't seen Downton Abbey, its a must watch. i know season 1 is on netflix for sure and season 2 is available to watch on pbs online. :-)
Sorry...meant to say "Downton". I'm used to typing the "w" I guess.
ReplyDeleteI love my Kozy Carrier! As for Netflix, I like Bones, Burn Notice, Psych, and others that I'm sure I'm forgetting.
